Dear friends, my name is Beatrice Mao. I am running for Lord Mayor of Kampala City. Of late Kampala City has witnessed serious flooding caused by a reckless project that was initiated without consideration of its environmental impact. The project has interfered with the drainage of runoff water which normally drains into a channel known as the Nakivubo Channel.

Due to the flooding thousands of traders in Kampala have lost merchandise worth millions of dollars. Many are now on the verge of bankruptcy as banks descend on their assets to recover loans they had secured to support their businesses.
