As we begin this new year, I extend my heartfelt wishes to every family, worker, trader, youth, and elder across our city. May this year bring prosperity, stability, and renewed hope to your homes, businesses, and communities.
A new year invites us to reflect honestly on where we are and where we want to go. Kampala is a city of resilience and hard work, yet many of our people continue to struggle with congestion, poor services, unemployment, flooding, waste management challenges, and rising living costs. These realities demand more than promises — they demand serious leadership, clear systems, and a commitment to service.
This year must mark a turning point. A year where leadership is measured not by noise or popularity, but by results, discipline, and accountability. A year where public service truly serves the public. A year where government works for the people — fairly, transparently, and efficiently.
As we move closer to the elections, I encourage all citizens to rise above division and political labels. Kampala’s future is bigger than party colours. Let us vote service, not colour. Let us choose leadership that plans, listens, and delivers. Leadership that respects institutions, protects the environment, supports enterprise, and creates opportunity for women and youth.
My commitment is to help build a Kampala that is clean, organised, inclusive, and economically vibrant — a city that works for traders, professionals, investors, families, and the next generation. A city grounded in values, strengthened by systems, and guided by integrity.
Together, with unity of purpose and clarity of vision, we can make this year a foundation for lasting progress.
Happy New Year, Kampala. May this be a year of prosperity, service, and shared responsibility.
