The kick-start of our campaign in Kawempe South was not staged, filtered, or rehearsed—it was real. From the first step into the community, it was clear that this is a division full of energy, resilience, and people who have waited far too long for leadership that listens and delivers. The reception was warm, honest, and grounded in the everyday struggles of residents who know exactly what they want: a city that works for them.

As we moved through Kawempe South, the condition of the roads told its own story. Several roads were barely passable, some completely cut off by water, erosion, and neglect. These are not new problems. They are not surprises. They are the result of years of leadership without urgency. It is therefore difficult to understand how the incumbent, after 15 years in office, can stand before the people and ask for another five years while communities still struggle to move, trade, and live with dignity.
Kawempe South deserves more than explanations—it deserves solutions. A capital city cannot grow when its neighborhoods are trapped by infrastructure that has been ignored for over a decade. Roads are not just about transport; they are about access to markets, schools, health services, and opportunity. When roads fail, the city fails its people.
This visit reaffirmed why this campaign exists. It is not about politics as usual. It is about resetting priorities, restoring systems, and returning leadership to service. Kawempe South is ready for change—not tomorrow, not in speeches, but now.
The momentum we felt here is real, and it is growing. The people of Kawempe South are not asking for miracles. They are asking for competence, accountability, and action. And that is exactly what this campaign is offering.
